We are so excited to embark on this new year and decade together! In the new year we are starting a full review of many previously learned skills such as letter recognition and exposure, as well as numbers, colors, and shapes. As we move throughout this next few weeks and months we will go more in depth about the season of winter, snow, as well as, tying in national holidays and special days that arise each week. Working with the Long Term Care Therapeutic Recreation team, in addition to, the rest of the amazing nurses, nursing assistants, and hospital/school administrators we are excited for a new year of learning and exploring!
What a busy first few months we have had! As a group we are continuing to learn preschool skills targeting exposure to letters, numbers, colors and shapes. We learn through music, books, song, play, and multi-sensory hands on learning experiences. We celebrated our first Thanksgiving touch, smell and taste a few weeks ago and plan to have one for the holiday season as well. So far we have learned the letters P, O, J, A, T, L, and W, as well as, the colors yellow, orange, read, brown and white. We have attempted to count up to almost 10 through song, books, and play. In conjunction with the Therapeutic Recreation team and our Music Therapist, our time together flies by each morning from all the fun filled activities we engage in! We can't wait to share all of our Winter activities with you! Stay tuned!
