Ms. Amanda Akdemir

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be teaching fifth grade again this year! Here are a few things about myself that will help you get to know me better. You will get to know me better as the year goes on and I can't wait to start getting to know all of you!

Birthday: October 31st

Where I was born: Englewood, NJ (I lived in NJ until I was 13 and then moved to Rockland County where I now live.)

Number of people in my family: 6 (I live with my mom, dad, two younger brothers and younger sister)

 

Favorite Color: I never really had a favorite color. I like earth tones and always liked black, white and gray.

Favorite Food: This one is hard for me! I have a lot of foods that I love, but one that I order almost all the time when I am out to eat is a grilled chicken salad. I especially love when they have nuts or fruit in the salad!

Favorite Subject: This is another hard one! Math is fun for me because I like solving problems, they are like puzzles! I love reading and writing because you learn so much about so many different things when you read and writing is a great way to express yourself. I also think Science is super cool and love doing experiments and discovering new things!

Favorite Book: The Giving Tree might be my all time favorite children's book, but I love A LOT of them!!

Favorite Activity: I like to exercise and try different types of outdoor and physical activities. I enjoy running, biking, hiking, kickboxing, CrossFit, and all sorts of yoga! My current favorite is running!

Favorite Season:  My favorite season is Fall because the weather is usually just right! It's not too hot and not too cold. (Also, my birthday is in the Fall, so maybe that has something to do with it.)
